Alice ‘Pat’ Graham, 83, formerly of Fitzwilliam, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at her residence while surrounded by her family.
Pat was born May 18, 1939, in Malden, MA, daughter of the late Robert J. and Alice (Lavoie) Saunders. She was a graduate of Woburn High School.
Soon after high school, Pat married the love of her life, Gary H. Graham. Together they had two children which she considered God’s gift to the family.
She had worked as a waitress for many years both in Woburn and Littleton, MA, then in 1969 she and her husband bought a small farm in Littleton. Gary had always talked about a log home and when he sold the farm, they bought property in Fitzwilliam, and they built their own log cabin in the woods of New Hampshire. Pat and Gary, along with the children, ran the farm and stand for 13 years before moving to New Hampshire where she worked for a publishing company in Peterborough before starting her own daycare. They had also managed the former Doody’s convenience store and gas station in Fitzwilliam for many years while living there.
After moving to Cape Cod, she joined the Senior Center in Hyannis and became a very active member, taking part in many classes and became more creative with each one. She became quite good at painting, woodcarving, and crocheting, and had even started learning how to play the Ukulele.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Gary.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy J. Griffin and her husband, David of Jaffrey; her son, Gary ‘Chris’ Graham and his wife, Laura of Hyannis, MA; her sister, Roberta Lilley of Ocala, FL, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 87 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452. Pat will be buried next to her husband at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street Winchendon MA 01475.
In lieu of flowers, please remember Pat with a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice.
