Anthony 'Tony' Buckingham

Anthony “Tony” Buckingham, 73, resident of Rindge, NH passed away on November 30, 2017 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family after a period of declining health.

He was born on November 18, 1944 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Henry and Katheryne (Schwendy) Buckingham.

Tony was raised and educated in New York and would later go on to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1962 – 1967, when he was honorably discharged.

He married Patricia (Everson) and together had four children. They resided in Massachusetts from 1969 until they moved to Rindge, NH in 2000. He worked for many years as superintendent at Hollingsworth and Vose Paper Company until retiring in 2009.

Tony was a proud veteran and was an active member in the Rindge Veterans’ Association, marching in various parades. In his spare time, he enjoyed time spent with his countless grandchildren and time spent ‘backyard sugaring’, golfing and hunting.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers; Richard and Gilbert Buckingham.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia of Rindge, his children and their spouses; Harvey (Anita) Buckingham of Fitchburg, MA, William (Jessica) Buckingham of Lemonister, MA, Alicia Buckingham of Clinton, MA and Rebecca (Keith) Eaton of Templeton, MA. 12 Grandchildren, Michael Desmarais, Kaitlin Desmarais, Kelsey Buckingham, Julieann Steinert, Keith Jr. Eaton, Jenna Buckingham, Amanda Rogers, Daniel Eaton, Nathan Buckingham, Megan Buckingham, Joshua Eaton and Amber Eaton. 4 Great Grandchildren, Brennah Bennett, Elise Desmarais, Landon Bennett and Leah McAvoy. His brothers; Bruce, Glenn and Ronald Buckingham all of New York, His Sisters; Mary Williams, Rosemarie Ball, Anne Rigabar and Betty Edwards also all of New York and many niece’s nephews and cousins.

In accordance to Tony’s wishes he will be cremated and there will no formal services at this time. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
