Barbara A. Ball, 79, of New Ipswich, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025, after experiencing a brief illness.
Born in Peterborough, NH, Barbara attended and graduated from the former Peterborough High School. Early on, she worked at NHBB in assembly and in finance, before serving as management for the AMES Department store in Peterborough. Barbara later served the Southern New Hampshire Region as a well-respected EMT for Souhegan Valley Ambulance before she retired but remained working for the State Of New Hampshire EMS/FTA .
Barbara was an avid lover of nature, music, and animals. She loved spending time with family and loved ones. Her love was felt by many as she always carried a comforting smile and a twinkle in her eye.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Justin L. Ball, her father, Alden S. Brunell, and by her mother, Alice M. Emery.
Barbara is survived by her 3 children, Kimberly Mercier of Rindge, Melissa Fernald of West Peterborough, and her son, Michael Christian of New Ipswich, and by her granddaughter Anna Fernald. She is also survived by her 3 stepchildren, Cyndi Santos, David Ball, and Beau Carrington, and by her granddaughter, Caitlin Ball. She will also be missed by her brother, Theodore Brunell, and by her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Church, 87 Main St. Jaffrey, NH. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps will be the celebrant. Her burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Jaffrey.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara always wished for any donations to be made to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 W Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
