Listen to Obituary

Benjamin J. Conway, a beloved husband, father, writer, and artist, passed away suddenly at his home on February 17, 2026, at the age of 49, with his family by his side. He was born on November 5, 1976, in Concord, New Hampshire, the son of David Lee and the late Margaret Conway.

Benjamin was a proud son of Irish heritage, with a spirit as colorful as the canvases he painted. Storytelling flowed through his veins, and he devoted his heart to his aspiring writing career, diligently crafting the pages of his first novel with hopes of one day seeing it published.

To his beloved wife, Kristy, Benjamin was a true companion and best friend. Their bond began with more than two decades of friendship that carried them through personal tragedies, until—much to their surprise—they fell in love in 2020. Their life together was filled with laughter, shared adventures, and countless concerts, none more cherished than the six times they experienced The Avett Brothers together.

Benjamin was a deeply loving father to his children, Ethan and Carissa Conway, and a devoted stepfather to Kaylyn Foote and Leighanna Rieth. He found joy in the simple, meaningful moments spent with family—including their two faithful German Shepherds, Maximus and Mayzee, who brought warmth and companionship to their home. He also adored his ten step‑grandchildren, who filled his life with laughter, silliness, and affection as their “Jammin’.” Benjamin often said that the only true innocence left in the world came from dogs and children.

He shared a close and cherished relationship with Kristy’s parents, Bill and Mickey Bullock, whom he considered the most amazing people on earth. Benjamin often expressed that Kristy’s family represented the loving, supportive family he had imagined for much of his life.

Benjamin embraced life with vivid enthusiasm, known for his signature scally caps and his gift for finding beauty in both the ordinary and extraordinary, not to mention his epic dance moves. His legacy lives through the love he nurtured, the art he created, and the words he left behind—reminding all who knew him to cherish each moment and love deeply.

Benjamin Joseph Conway will be forever remembered by his devoted wife and best friend, Kristy; his cherished children, Carissa and Ethan Conway; his stepchildren, Kaylyn Foote and Leighanna Rieth; his brothers, Jeremy and Joshua Post; the beautiful grands who called him Jammin’, and his four‑legged companions, Maximus and Mayzee.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Lee Conway.
