Bruce J. Scribner, 66, a resident of Dublin, NH died at his home with his son by his side on January 7, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bruce was born on February 16, 1952 in Peterborough, NH, a son of the late Ernest and Lorraine (Robichaud) Scribner. He was a 1972 graduate of Conant High School in Jaffrey.
Bruce retired after working as a supervisor at New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough for more than 32 years. He enjoyed farming and working the pulling ponies with his father, entering them in the pony pulls at many fairs through the years. Bruce also liked fishing, hunting and getting together with friends and family for a game of cards.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was also predeceased by his brother Ernest “Buzzy” Scribner, on July 30, 2017, his nephew, Christopher Burnham and his brother-in-law, Phillip Merchen.
He is survived by his son, Eric J. Scribner of Dublin, NH; his brothers; Gerald A. Scribner (Charlonne) of Stoddard, NH and Roderick Scribner of Troy, NH; his sisters, Donna Merchen of Soda Springs, Idaho and Linda May of Jaffrey, NH; his nieces and nephews, Gerald L. Scribner of Stoddard, NH, Jessica Scribner of Shesfield, OH, Daniel Scribner of Jaffrey, Charles Guptil, Jr. of Winchendon, MA, Angela Guptil of Peterborough, NH, Miranda Quinn of Peterborough, NH, Heidi Scribner of Baltimore, MD, and Nicholas Guptil of Jaffrey; his uncles, Harold Robichaud of Jaffrey and Richard Scribner of Presque Isle, ME, and many cousins and friends.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor of Saint Patrick Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring at Saint Patrick Cemetery in Jaffrey.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Bruce to the Good Neighbor Fund, P.O. Box 486, Jaffrey, NH.
