Claire L. Rainville, age 77, long-term resident of Peterborough, NH, passed away on July 14, 2026, in the comfort of her home. She was born on March 1, 1949, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, a daughter to the late Urbain “Bob” and Laurette A. Rainville.

Family was the heart of Claire's world. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones, creating lasting memories through gatherings, conversations, and shared traditions. Her greatest joy came from seeing her family together, and she took immense pride in the lives and accomplishments of those she loved.

Claire will also be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her community. As the beloved driver of Bus 52, she became a familiar and welcoming presence to countless passengers over the years. More than simply driving a bus, Claire greeted people with kindness, compassion, and a friendly smile, making a positive impact on the daily lives of those she served. Her commitment to her work and the people in her community earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and passengers alike.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched.

She will be forever remembered by her three children; Irene E. Dussault of Jaffrey, NH, Christine E. Dussault of Athol, MA, and David R. Dussault and his wife Johanna Swinder of Keene, NH, grandchildren, Hunter S. Grobsky, Gage M. Blanchette, Katherine J. Blanchette, Amber E. Dussault, and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn N. Horton, Brayden A. Horton, and Braelynn N. Horton, one brother Roger Rainville of Woonsocket, RI, two Godchildren, Ethan Bishon and Caitlin Maeve, as well as cousins and friends.

Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Thursday, July 23 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, Jaffrey.

Claire will be laid to rest beside her mother at St. James Cemetery in Manville, Rhode Island.
