Colleen M. Cloutier

July 30, 1945 — May 3, 2018

Rindge, New Hampshire

Colleen M. Cloutier, 72, of Rindge died peacefully on Thursday May 3, 2018 at her home following a very brief period of failing health.

She was born on July 30, 1945 in Peterborough, daughter of the late Herbert and Helen (Booth) Champney. She was raised in Rindge and had graduated from Our Lady of Monadnock Academy in Jaffrey. Colleen had lived her entire life on East Main Street in Rindge with only 2 houses between each of hers.

Colleen had enjoyed being a stay at home until all her children were older. She then worked at NEBS in Peterborough for more than 27 years before changing careers and working at Teleflex in Jaffrey until she retired.

She was a hard worker who spent her life tenderly caring for others, young, old, and even her pets. Colleen will always be remembered for being set in her ways but having a heart of gold. She always kept her family close and they were most important in her life. Colleen attended almost every one of her children and grandchildren’s school events and loved having family and friends over for barbeques by the pool.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard J. Cloutier whom she married on August 8, 1964, and by her granddaughter Kasie Cloutier.

Colleen is survived by her daughter, Jolyn Cloutier of Dublin; her four sons, Michael Cloutier and his wife Teresa of Jaffrey, Herbert Cloutier of Rindge, Richard Cloutier and his wife Kelene of Rindge and Owen Cloutier of Jaffrey; her sister Tanis Whitcomb and her husband Dwight of Rindge; her brother Joseph Champney and his wife Brenda of Gardner, MA; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her best friend, her Yorkshire Terrier ‘Maddie’.

As her request, there will be no calling hours or formal funeral service at this time. However, a family gathering and barbeque will be held to celebrate her life later.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to either the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446 or to Kitty Rescue and Adoption, PO Box 468, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
