Dean Joseph Bednar, 64, of Richmond, died Sunday evening, October 7, 2018, at his home, after a period of declining health.
He was born on July 16, 1954, in Newark, NJ, to James W. and Lucille M (Charette) Bednar. Raised in NJ, he graduated from Boonton High School, and worked as a master plumber for 20 years. He obtained an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Mt Wachusett Community College, and worked as a Registered Nurse at various Bay State hospital Emergency Rooms.

He enjoyed working on cars with his father, and as an adult, became an accomplished repairman, always concocting methods to solve a myriad of mechanical problems. He is survived by Katharine, of Richmond, and their five children: James of Fitzwilliam, Andrew of Ashuelot, Mary Kate of Swanzey, Samuel of Fitzwilliam and Luke of Richmond; his siblings: Chi Chi Kobilarcik and her husband Barry, Mary Lou Bednar all of Boonton, NJ, and John Higgins of Gig Harbor, WA; 14 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
