Earl R. Chamberlain, Jr., age 77, of Saratoga, AR, a long-time resident of Jaffrey, NH, passed away on August 2, 2026. He was born in Peterborough, NH, on November 9, 1948, a son to the late Earl R. “Pete” Chamberlain Sr. and the late Evelyn (Wright) Chamberlain.

He graduated from Peterborough High School in 1968, and then proudly served his country on active duty in the U.S. Army and later served with the New Hampshire Army National Guard until his retirement in 1996 from the NH National Guard. He married the love of his life in 1973, the late Carol (Forcier) Chamberlain, and they set their roots in Jaffrey.

Known for his strong work ethic, Earl served as a machinist and mechanic at Reed and Prince until they closed their doors. He then spent the remainder of his career at Millipore, working faithfully until his retirement.

Earl enjoyed many hobbies and interests, including woodworking, camping, fishing, cribbage, and horseshoes. He especially enjoyed spending summers at Cold Springs Campground in Weare, New Hampshire, where he and Carol made many wonderful memories and friendships. He could often be found enjoying a game of cribbage or horseshoes with friends.

Earl was a skilled woodworker who took great pride in creating beautiful and meaningful pieces. He was never interested in making a profit from his work. Instead, he found joy in giving his creations to family and friends as gifts.

In addition to his parents, and his beloved wife of 44 years, Carol, he was predeceased by his siblings, Nancy Speeney and William Chamberlain.

Earl will be forever remembered by his daughters, Teresa Jones and her husband Barry of La Quinta, CA, and Daphne Lafleur and her husband Michael of Saratoga, AR, his six grandchildren: Ashley Harper, Casey Harper, Sean Jones, Ryan Jones, Dayna Lopez, and Carter Jones; and his six great-grandchildren: Arianna, Adrian, Anahi Martinez; Malakai, Sophia Casarez; Orion Lopez, and a sister Susan Cauthron, as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Chloe, who was a cherished companion.

Earl will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched, the friendships he cherished, and the love he shared with his family.

Family and Friends are warmly invited to calling hours on August 31, 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River St., Jaffrey, NH. Burial with Military Honors will take place following calling hours at St. Patrick Cemetery, Jaffrey, NH.
