Elaine R. Whitney

May 22, 1934 — June 28, 2016

Elaine R. Whitney (Bourgeois) of Rindge, NH died peacefully on June 28th after a brief illness.

She was born on May 22, 1934 in Fitchburg, MA, a daughter of the late Hector and Aline
(Bernier) Bourgeois.

Elaine was raised in Greenville, NH and graduated from Appleton Academy in 1952.
She married Arthur L. Whitney in 1953 and together they raised their family in New Ipswich and years later they moved to Rindge.

Elaine worked for many years as a bookkeeper/secretary and most importantly as a great mother and homemaker to her family.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur, in 1979.

Survivors include her children, Kevin and wife Sandra Whitney of Newmarket, NH and Karen Whitney and husband George Levine of Medfield, MA and her adored grandson, Alexander Levine, a brother, Hector and Elaine Bourgeois of Falmouth, MA and Rachel and Paul Emond of Fort Worth, TX and several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Calling hour will be held on Thursday, July 7th from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, July 8th in the Hillside Cemetery, Rindge, NH.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Friends of the Library in Rindge, NH, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or a charity of ones choice in memory of Elaine.
