Ernest “Buzzy” Scribner, 67, resident of Sullivan, NH died at the Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough, after a sudden illness while helping a friend hay in Jaffrey on July 30, 2017.
He was born on January 11, 1950 in Presque Isle, Maine, a son of the late Ernest and Lorraine (Robichaud) Scribner.
Buzzy was raised and educated in the Jaffrey, NH area and graduated from Conant High School and later would attend Franklin Pierce College. He worked for many years in construction and as a farmer.
His hobbies included; hunting, fishing, maple sugaring, raising cattle and spending time helping family and friends and a good game of cribbage.
Survivors include his beloved companion, Anne McCarthy of Sullivan, NH, Brothers; Gerry Scribner of Stoddard, NH, Ronald Scribner of Troy, NH and Bruce Scribner of Dublin, NH; Sisters, Linda May of Peterborough, NH and Donna Merchan of Idaho, Son, Daniel Scribner of Jaffrey, NH, Grandson, Colby Scribner also of Jaffrey, NH and many niece’s nephews, cousins and close friends.
Services: A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Buzzy to the Good Neighbor Fund, P.O. Box 486, Jaffrey, NH.
