Frederick F. Eichorn, Jr., age 81, longtime resident of Jaffrey, NH, passed away peacefully at UMass Memorial – University Campus in Worcester, MA on September 30, 2026, following a period of declining health, surrounded by family.

Frederick was born on June 21, 1945, in Boston, MA, a son to the late Frederick F. and Lillian A. (Talbot) Eichorn Sr.

He attended Cathedral High School in Boston, MA, and joined the US Army and served during the Vietnam War, Specialist Fifth Class and was Honorably Discharged in 1967.

Fred and his wife Kathy grew up down the street from each other in Dorchester, Boston. After he returned from the military, they were married on May 4, 1968. They soon welcomed their daughter, Kerrie, affectionately known as his princess. Eleven years later, their family was complete with the arrival of their son, Brian. In time, their family grew to include three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each adding another special chapter to their family’s story.

Frederick loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He spent several of his younger years hunting bears with a bow and arrow. He donated one of his bears known as ‘Clyde’ to New Hampshire Fish & Game. After his hunting years, he became an avid fisherman and fished all types, but largemouth and smallmouth Bass were his favorite. He spent his last few years fishing regularly with his granddaughter, Emily.

In addition to both parents, he was predeceased by his son, Brian Michael Eichorn in 2022.

He will lovingly be remembered by his beloved wife of 58 years, Kathleen E. Eichorn, of Jaffrey, NH, daughter, Kerrie Dellalucca of Jaffrey, NH, grandchildren, Emily & Zach Chaisson, Amy Olson, and James Olson, and Great-Grandchildren, Ethan, Makenzie, and Michael, as well as  many other family members, and friends.

In keeping with Fred’s wishes, he will be laid to rest beside his beloved son, Brian. A private burial with Military Honors will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery on October 15.

Please consider memorial contributions in Frederick’s name to American Legion Post 11, 20 Webster St, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
