March 7, 1929 — May 3, 2017

Helena G. Blanchette, 88, a lifelong resident of Greenville, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Concord Hospital after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Blanchette was born on March 7, 1929 in Greenville, a daughter of the late Frank and Eleanor (Paige) Muro. She attended the Greenville Grade School and was a graduate of the former Appleton Academy. She married Edward L. Blanchette on May 29, 1948 and they shared almost 69 years together.

Mrs. Blanchette was proud to be a stay at home mom and loved her family deeply. She especially loved doting on her only granddaughter Melissa. Mrs. Blanchette had an incredible sense of humor but was a woman of few words and a glance could say volumes. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her potato salad. She even fed multiple generations of her backyard birds by hand. Cherished times with her family included many vacations in Wells, Maine and in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Mrs. Blanchette is survived by her loving husband, Edward L. Blanchette of Greenville, NH; her 2 daughters, Linda Ouellette and her husband Richard of Jaffrey, and Katherine Blanchette of Greenville, NH; her granddaughter Melissa Ouellette of Watertown, MA; her sister, Francesca Balzer of Ashburnham, MA, and nieces and friends.

There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will take place in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made in Mrs. Blanchette’s name to the Salvation Army, 15 Roxbury Plaza, Keene, NH 03431.
