Helmi A. Beckmann, age 86, of Jaffrey, NH, passed away on September 7, 2026 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Bronx, New York, on July 26, 1940, a daughter to the late Tauno and Weino Puhakka. 

Helmi lived a quiet and private life, finding joy in the people, places, and simple moments that mattered most to her. She loved her husband of 46 years, Freddie Beckmann deeply, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, adventure, and companionship. They enjoyed traveling together, flying in their Cessna, going boating, and creating countless memories along the way.

In the 1970's, Helmi and her husband owned and operated Park Aquarium in Jaffrey. Their love of animals brought many pets into their lives over the years, and those animals became an important and cherished part of their family.

Helmi was also a dedicated and hardworking woman. She was exceptionally devoted to her work at Millipore in Jaffrey for more than 33 years up until her retirement in 2006. Remarkably, she never missed a day. Helmi found happiness in her gardening and being outdoors. She took pride in nurturing and watching things grow. Her garden, like her life, reflected her patience, care, and appreciation for the beauty found in everyday things.

In addition to both parents, she was predeceased by her husband Freddie. 

She will be forever remembered by her daughters, Laurel Maack of Bolton, MA, and Linda McGuirk of Jaffrey, NH, her sons, Fredrick Beckmann of Greer, SC, and Neil Beckmann of New Ipswich, NH, 17 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren, as well as many friends, and extended family.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, hard work, and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

She will be laid to rest privately to be with her husband at Forest Hill Cemetery in Fitchburg, MA.
