Inez Norby Kalliainen, 85, of Old New Ipswich Road in Rindge died peacefully on Monday July 2, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Health Care Center in Jaffrey surrounded by her family. She was born January 23, 1927 in Plummer, Minnesota daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Isaacson) Tervo. She was a 1944 graduate of Plummer High School and a 1948 graduate of the Lutheran Deaconess School of Nursing in Minneapolis MN where she earned her RN Degree. She had been a resident of Minneapolis until moving to Rindge in 1969. While in Minnesota she had worked at the Methodist Hospital in Hopkin, MN. After moving east and before retiring she had worked at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene as well as the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough. She was a great cook and baker who will be remembered by her loving spirit and wonderful smile. Above all she cherished the time spent with her family. Her husband of twenty seven years, James R. Norby died in December 1975. She is survived by her husband of thirty five years Calvin “Rudy” Kalliainen of Rindge; four daughters Joy Seppala of Rindge, Janice Kalliainen, Joan Seppala and Karen Pyhala all of Greer, SC; four sons David Norby, Steven Norby, Mark Norby and Jeffrey Norby all of Rindge; four step-daughters Norma Muhonen of Tri-Cities, Washington, Coreen Muhonen of Greer, SC, Rebecca Matila of Woodland, Washington and Anja Kinnunen of Rindge; four step-sons Russell Kalliainen of Greer, SC Randall Kalliainen of Vancouver, Washington, Stephen Kalliainen of Rindge and Seth Kalliainen of Woodland, Washington; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery on Goddard Road in Rindge.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at HCS, P.O. Box 496, Peterborough NH 03458.
Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Thursday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202S) in Jaffrey.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00AM at the Apostolic Lutheran Church, 117 Goen Road, New Ipswich.
