Irene Mei Lin Gordon

Irene Gordon, 64, of Rindge, died Thursday night, June 10, 2021, in the comfort of her own home, after a period of declining health.

She was born on October 17, 1956, in the Hong Kong region of China, the daughter of Ka Fu and So Ying Szeto. She and her family emigrated to the United States when Irene was five years old, settling within the Boston area where she grew up and attended area schools. She was a 1974 graduate of Brighton High School in Brighton, MA.

She met Bruce A. Gordon in a Boston restaurant and in 1977, the couple were married and moved to the Jaffrey/Rindge area, where she resided for the remainder of her life.
She worked at W.W. Cross for over 20 years and for the Monadnock Community Hospital as a Payroll Analyst for over 12 years.

She enjoyed baking and pastry decorating, specifically cakes, for which she had a real talent. She enjoyed shopping trips and spoiling her grandchildren, which was in truth, her favorite hobby.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years: Bruce A. Gordon, of Rindge; her children: Allen Gordon and his wife Nicole, of Nashua and Jennifer Kussmaul and her husband Andrew of Euless, TX; 4 grandchildren; her mother: So Ying Szeto of Boston, MA; her brothers: Glenn Szeto and his wife Denise of Westwood, MA, Tommy Szeto and his wife Nancy of Sherborn, MA; her sisters: Vera Wong and her husband Peter of Brighton, MA and Betty Ng and her husband David of Sharon, MA as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father: Ka Fu Szeto.

Per the request of the family, there will be no public calling hours. Burial will take place on Saturday, June 26th at 11am at Hillside Cemetery in Rindge followed by a celebration of life at Hidden Hills in Rindge. All are welcome.
