Jane Ann (Philips) Meneghini of Peterborough, NH died peacefully in her home surrounded by her sons and in the arms of her loving husband at about 6:45 PM on February 1, 2022.
Jane was born on July 24, 1938, in Chicago, IL to the late Fletcher and Margaret Philips. She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Mercy high school in 1956. After high school she met her loving husband, Frank A. Meneghini and they married on February 11, 1961, in Chicago. Together they grew their family with the births of their four sons: John, Tom, Paul, and Marc. After raising her children, she attended Northeastern State University earning a master's degree in Education. She became a university level adjunct professor of literature and a published writer.
A thoughtful and intelligent woman, Jane’s desire to improve the world can be seen in her commitment to family, her political activism, her love for flowers and gardening, and her passion for literature and poetry. Alive in the spirit of Christ, Jane fervently believed in the compassion and charity as expressed through the example of Saint Francis. She will be forever known for her outgoing and engaging nature she will be missed by all who came to know her; and those who knew her, loved her.
She is predeceased by her parents and her grandchild, Victoria Meneghini.
Jane is survived by husband of 61 years, Frank A. Meneghini of Peterborough, NH, her sons; John Meneghini of Billerica, Ma., Tom Meneghini of Groton, MA, Paul Meneghini of Ipswich, MA, and Marc Meneghini of Toronto, Canada, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her brother Tom Philips of Chicago, her sister Carolyn Taylor of Champaign, Il, and several nieces and nephews.
