Janet B. Gordon (St.Pierre), 80, lifelong resident of Rindge, NH died at her home on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
She was born on November 25, 1935 in Rindge, NH, a daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche (Poland) St. Pierre.
Janet was raised and educated in the Rindge and Jaffrey area and graduated from Conant High School in 1951. She married Peter Gordon in September of 1956.
She worked for many years as a waitress, lunch lady, secretary and her most rewarding job of all was being a wonderful homemaker for her family.
Janet enjoyed driving around finding yard sales to shop at and even went as far as to open her own business Relics Etc.
She was a charter member of the Rindge Women’s club. She also was a member of the historical society and was the longtime supervisor of the check list for the town of Rindge.
In addition to her parents Janet was predeceased by her husband, Peter in 1988, a son, Mitch in 2008 and her brother Wayne in 2005.
Janet always maintained a good sense of humor in life and that was very evident throughout these last few months of a slow health decline for her.
Survivors include her children; Son, Bruce and wife Irene Gordon of Rindge, Daughter, Ellen Gordon and husband Eugene Raynor of Rindge, Daughter-in-law, Uncho Gordon of Rindge, Sister; Amy Raymond of Rindge, Six grandchildren; Allen of Nashua, Jennifer of Texas, Wade of Manchester, Evan Raynor of Rindge and Chris and Elizabeth Gordon also of Rindge, and many niece’s nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH.
A graveside service will follow at 12:30 PM in the Hillside Cemetery, Rindge, NH.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in memory of Janet to the Rindge Historical Society.
