Jennie J. Romberg, 83, of Plantation Drive in Jaffrey died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday September 7, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey. She was born September 24, 1928 in Ferndale, Michigan, daughter of the late Felix and Anna M. (Sivonen) Parkkila. Jennie was a 1948 graduate of Lincoln High School in Ferndale Michigan. She was a retired switchboard operator for Michigan Bell Phone Co. She has been a resident of Jaffrey since 1992 and had previously lived in Marlborough, Troy and Fitzwilliam. Jennie was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church and she had enjoyed sewing and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by a two daughters Anna Hutchinson and husband John of Empire, Michigan and Dianne Alessandrini and husband Thomas of Canton, Michigan; three sons David Romberg and his wife Patricia of Interlochen, Michigan, Kevin Romberg and his wife Yvonne of Lubbock,TX , and Keith Romberg of Fraser Michigan ; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters Alice Aittama of Winchester, NH and Helen Niemela of Fitzwilliam; many nieces and nephews. Jennie was predeceased by a daughter Cynthia as well as eight brothers and sisters
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund at Good Shepherd Healthcare Center, 20 Plantation Drive, Jaffrey 03452.
As per her request, there will be no calling hours.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the Apostolic Lutheran Church, Route 12, Ashburnham, MA. Pastor Ralph Niemela will officiate. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Cemetery in Ashburnham MA.
