October 9, 1954 — December 26, 2021

It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of John W. Berry of Jaffrey, NH on December 26th, 2021, with his loving wife, Laura, by his side.

John began his journey October 9th, 1954 in Springfield, MA, he was the son of Francis and Eleanor (Goodwin) Berry. He grew up in Franklin, ME and graduated from Sumner Memorial High School in Sullivan, ME. John then enlisted in The United States Army and completed his basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey and was then assigned to the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, KY.

It was in New Hampshire where he met the love of his life and best friend, Laura (Frost) Berry. They married on June 24th, 1989 and made Jaffrey their home where they raised their two wonderful daughters, Brianna and Kayla. They were “his girls” and his whole world. He was later blessed in 2017 with his twin granddaughters who also became the holders of his heart.

John found great happiness in sports. He enjoyed playing basketball, cross-country and excelled in baseball by pursuing his dream and playing Triple-A Ball in Kentucky. Outside of sports he enjoyed woodworking, camping, traveling with his family and any and all gatherings.

Locals will remember John as the owner of Wen-Sco Wheels or “The Skate Guy” but more importantly he will be remembered for his laughter, his love for fun and his entertaining dancing. His welcoming personality made kids and adults alike feel like a part of his family. There was always an open chair at his table.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Laura Berry of Jaffrey, NH.
