Karen Ann Watts

Karen A. Watts, 76, of Rindge, NH, passed away in the comfort of her home on May 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Her husband David, her son Sean & her daughter Kelly were all by her side when she passed.

Karen was born in Clinton, MA on February 5, 1948. She was the youngest of 4, and only daughter, to the late Frank W. and Emily (Lueder) Poulin.

Karen grew up in the Bolton & Leominster, Massachusetts area.  She attended and graduated in the class of 1966 from Leominster High School. She went on to attend Ward School of Business in Worcester where she obtained her degree. She lived in various places with her husband as they travelled for his career, finally settling in Rindge NH. Here they’ve made many memories over the past 50 years.  They eventually moved into their forever home in 1986 on Lake Monomonac in Rindge, where they’ve lived peacefully for the past 38 years.  While she lived in Rindge she worked as a Data Entry Clerk at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, and then transitioned to Johnson Abrasives in Jaffrey up to her retirement in 2014. Karen was also an active member and past officer with the VFW Auxiliary #5613 of Jaffrey alongside her husband.

In her free time, she enjoyed many hobbies, including gardening, hiking, reading, and baking.  After retirement she especially enjoyed vacationing in the warm sun and sandy beaches of Florida and Georgia.  She loved taking long walks on the beach, collecting shells, and watching the sunsets.  She also enjoyed travelling to Rhode Island and partaking in boating and kayaking.  Spending time outdoors and in nature brought her much peace and great joy. She was a proud grandmother who greatly enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, listening to her grand-daughters sing in their high school choir, watching them dance in their ballet shows, seeing her grand-daughters artistry, sketches, and tattooing skills, as well as playing cards and board games with them.  More than anything else, she adored her time spent with her family, savoring each moment with them, whatever the occasion.  Her warmth, joy, and laughter were the light of every room.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her infant son, Craig Watts, her three brothers, Francis (and his wife Peggy) Kenneth Poulin and Fred Poulin, her sister-in-law Claudia (Watts) Huchowski.

She will be forever remembered by her husband of 55 years, David H. Watts, her son Sean Watts and his wife Kimberly of Falmouth, MA, her daughter, Kelly (Watts) McGinnis and her husband Christopher of Arvada, CO.  Her grandchildren; Emma Watts, Alan Watts, Waylan Watts, Fiona McGinnis, and Lyndsey McGinnis.  Her sisters-in-law; Mary Ellen Poulin and Lorraine Poulin, and Diana Wass.  Brother-in-Laws; Bruce Watts, and Hal Watts.  As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Karen will be laid to rest privately to be with her son Craig.
