Leon J. St. Cyr, of Peterborough, NH, died peacefully after a period of declining health on October 8, 2022, surrounded by family and the compassionate caregivers of the Scott-Farrar Retirement Community.
Leon was born on September 21, 1931, in Littleton, NH. He attended schools there and graduated from Littleton High School in the class of 1950.
Leon served in the U.S. Air Force for over twenty-four years up to his retirement in 1976 as Chief Master Sergeant. He could often be found volunteering at Monadnock Community Hospital’s Emergency Department. Leon was also a third-degree knight with the Lancaster Knights of Columbus Council 1624.
In addition to his parents, Leon was predeceased by his brothers Phillip, Raoul, Leo, Emile, Joseph, Walter and Francis, his sisters Irene, Rita, and Beatrice.
Leon is survived by his sisters, Jeanne Soltis of Rocky Mount, NC, Sister M. Monique St. Cyr of Nashua, NH, and Simone (Maurice) Lagace of Peterborough, NH.
Friends and family are invited to a calling hour on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 12 Church Street, Peterborough, NH 03458 (GPS: 161 Wilton Road Peterborough NH 032458).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted inside the chapel at 11:00AM, officiated by Reverend Mike Taylor. Military Honors will be presented outside of church following the conclusion of Mass. Burial will follow immediately in St. Peters Cemetery, located on High Street, Peterborough, NH 03458.
The family would like to thank Monadnock Community Hospital and the caregivers at Scott-Farrar for their compassionate care of Leon in his final days.
