Lorraine E. Goddard

November 14, 1925 — March 6, 2015

Lorraine Elinor Goddard, 89, of Rindge, NH, passed away March 6, 2015 at Monadnock Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Lorraine was a “Yooper”, born November 14, 1925 in Portage Entry, Chassell, MI, daughter of the late Emil and Syme Kalliainen. She graduated from Chassell High School in 1943. In her single years she moved around the country working, before God called her to NH. In 1964, Lorraine married Roland Goddard, a man recently widowed with 6 children. She had cared for many children by then and became a wonderful mother to them. Together, Roland & Lorraine also had one son, Charles. Lorraine's first love was to the Lord and was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church. She dearly loved her husband and all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always greeted each with a beautiful smile and made everyone feel loved and special. In younger years, Lorraine was well known as an expert seamstress, bookkeeper, and homemaker. She enjoyed shopping! With the family grown, Lorraine enjoyed traveling with her husband to many areas, including trips to Finland, the land of her ancestors, Israel, Hawaii, and Alaska. In later years, she became an avid reader but visits with her family and friends were the highlights of her days! Lorraine leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Roland C. Goddard Jr. of Rindge NH, her children Albert and his wife Linda of New Ipswich, Arnold and his wife Racheal of Fitzwilliam, Earl and his wife Laura, Elaine West and her husband Mark, Charles and his wife Linda all of Rindge. Two sons-in-law; Richard Olin of Yacolt, WA and Wayne Traffie of New Ipswich, 57 grandchildren and 119 great-grandchildren and her sister LaVerne Johnson of Livonia, MI, along with many beloved nieces and nephews, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, three brothers; Kenny, Bob and Rudy, her two daughters; Jeanne (Olin) and Rhonda (Traffie) and her great grandson Michael. Family and friends are invited to calling hours Tuesday, March 10, 2015, from 6:00-8:00, at the Apostolic Lutheran Church, 117 Goen Road, New Ipswich, NH The funeral service for Lorraine will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at 11:00 AM at the Apostolic Lutheran Church.
