Marilyn Maye Cashion, a lifelong resident of Peterborough, NH, died on January 23, 2021 after happily spending her last 3 years at Summerhill Assisted Living.
Born on April 21, 1930, to Delmar and Leona (Halloran) Farhm, she was raised in South Peterborough and attended Mount St. Mary Academy in Hooksett, graduating with the class of 1948.
Her first job was at Clukey's Drug Store in Peterborough. Always a classy dresser, she was hired to work at The Monadnock Shop for Nat Underdown. For many years she worked in the credit card division of the First National Bank in Peterborough and then for a time at their bank in Keene.
Her husband, Lennie, who died in 1997, and Marilyn had an adventuresome life together. Most every weekend they would be on Lake Winnipesaukee in their cabin cruiser with many other couples from Peterborough. Being members of the Winnipesaukee Yacht Club, they made great friends and memories. Marilyn was always proud of her perpetual tan and worked diligently to maintain a lovely brown. Even at Summerhill, she would go out after lunch and grab as many sun rays as she could! While at Summerhill, Marilyn loved the Bingo games, trivia, music programs, exercise classes and church services. Lennie and she were very active at Beech Hill in Dublin, NH, where they led seminars and programs for Al-Anon.
The Cashion’s lived on Old Street Road all of their married life. They were fond "parents" of many Boston Terriers, their last one, Pepper, being loved by all the neighbors.
Marilyn is survived by many wonderful friends and cousins.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Divine Mercy Church, 12 Church Street, Peterborough, on March 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be in the spring with her husband at the old St. Peter's Cemetery in Peterborough.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn's name to the Peterborough Fire & Rescue, 16 Summer St., Peterborough, NH 03458.
