Michael E. Heaphy

Michael E. Heaphy, 69, of Jaffrey, NH passed away on October 15, 2023 in the comfort of his home. 

He was born on March 26, 1954, in Lynn, MA, a son to John and Marie (Lucille) Heaphy. Michael grew up in Lynn, MA and graduated from Lynn Classical High School  in 1972.

After high school, Michael enlisted with the United States Army. He served his country for three years as a morse code qualified Intercept Operator before being honorably discharged. 

Michael married Debra Dallaire and together they grew their family with the birth of their four sons; Jason, Timothy, Jacob, and Joshua.

He worked at the North Reading/ Woburn post office  as a mail handler for 20+ years until his retirement. 

Michael was very fond of sports. He was an avid Giants, Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox fan - he found great joy in watching any kind of sports games and discussing the history of his favorite teams and players. He also enjoyed playing cribbage, chess and cards.

He is predeceased by his parents John and Marie (Lucille) Heaphy and his younger brother, Paul Heaphy. 

Michael is survived by his four sons; Tim Heaphy of Lyndeborough, NH, Jake Heaphy of Rindge, NH, Jay Heaphy of Rindge, NH, Josh Heaphy of New Ipswich, NH, his brothers; John Heaphy of Peabody, MA and James Heaphy of Lynn, MA, his sisters; Susan Blum of Lynn, MA and Patricia Tarr of Medford, MA, and eleven grandchildren. 

A private military service will be held for family.  

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Michael’s name to the Headstrong Project - a non profit mental health organization that provides PTSD treatment to veterans, service members and family connected to their care.
