Michael G. Stewart, age 72, a long-time resident of Rindge, New Hampshire, passed away on April 8, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 4, 1953, in Salina, Kansas, the son of Billie D. Stewart and Jean F. Stewart. Michael grew up in Kansas, eventually moving to outside Denver, Colorado, and finally settling in the Jaffrey/Rindge area where he lived the rest of his life.
Michael built a dedicated career as a quality manager at New Hampshire Ball Bearing, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Michael was a talented self taught carpenter and did all of the finish work in the home he purchased with his wife in 1995, where he resided until his death. He made many coffee tables, end tables, and bookshelves, all of which were top notch quality.
He spent his retirement doing yard work and puttering around the house and discovered a hidden talent for stained glass making. He made many beautiful pieces, including three clocks. He called his glassmaking, which he sold for a few years at a local craft fair at Christmas time, Papa against Parkinson’s.
Fondly called Papa by his daughter-in-law and grandchildren, Michael was a fun and involved grandfather. His grandson, Holden, had an especially close relationship with him and they would do all kinds of wild and fun things. Papa was willing to invest in his grandchildren and was very proud of all four of their accomplishments.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Lynn M. Stewart.
He is survived by his children; Christopher and Christine Stewart of Rindge, NH, Lauren and Christopher Wilson of Manchester, NH, his grandchildren; Shayla, Annabelle, and Holden Stewart of Rindge, NH, and Ruby Wilson of Manchester, NH, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In accordance with Michael’s wishes, services will be private.
