Patricia A. Burdick, 79, of Keene died peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at her home with family by her side after a sudden illness.
She was born on April 6, 1939 in New York City, NY, daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Deluka) Capuano. Mrs. Burdick was a graduate of West Hempstead (NY) High School.
Mrs. Burdick had worked in Word Processing and Data Entry for many years at Vons in El Monte, CA and had more recently enjoyed working at her local Wal-Mart in Chino, CA as well.
She had moved from New York to California where she had lived in Temple City, Diamond Bar, Chino and Eastvale before moving to Keene last year with her family. Mrs. Burdick was an active member of Calvary Chapel in Chino Valley and even after moving, enjoyed the podcasts of the sermons by Pastor David Rosales and various guest pastors there each week. She also loved reading her Bible and shopping, but most important to Mrs. Burdick was her family. She was a proud grandmother and enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and being a big part of their lives. She was a huge fan of her granddaughter who is an Olympic gold medalist in Ice Hockey, and loved the constant company of her family’s Labradors, Winston, Scout and Ranger.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Sally Varvaro, and by her former husband, Garry L. Burdick, on December 6, 2015.
Mrs. Burdick is survived by her daughter, Michelle Church and her husband Scott Barnes of Keene, NH; her 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Aaron, Nicholas, Ryan and Cayla; her great-grandson Gunnar Barnes, nephews Ken, Tom and Rob Varvaro, and close friends, especially Richard Davichek of Norco, CA.
At her request, there will be no calling hours. Funeral services for Mrs. Burdick will be held on Thursday January 31, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202 South) Jaffrey, NH 03452. Burial will follow at Monadnock View Cemetery in Keene.
