Peter Raymond Barney

Peter Raymond Barney, 56, of Esko, MN, peacefully passed away with his sister, Patty, by his side on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Born on March 23, 1968, in Cloquet, MN, he was the son of the late Raymond George and Phyllis Ann (Bergstedt) Barney. Peter graduated from Esko High School in 1986. He would go on to a career in retail sales and mortgage broking.

Peter enjoyed fishing many locations in northern Minnesota and especially the Brule River in Wisconsin. As well, he loved hunting and golfing and spending time with many lifelong friends. 

Peter was also an animal lover; his beloved cats Franklin and Lemmy predeceased him.

Peter is survived by his sisters Jill (Phil) Marin of Plymouth, MN, Judy (John) Lappi of Inman, SC, Patty Barney of Rindge, NH, and Maria Marzolf of Esko, MN. Peter is also survived by his 10 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at this time. A celebration of his life will be planned for the summer of 2025 in the Northland.
