Phoebe Elsie (Somero) Hoyt, 85 of New Ipswich, NH passed from this life into eternity on Friday, January 15, 2021. She was in the tender care of her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Hoyt was born in Franklin, Michigan on June 16, 1935, a daughter of the late Arthur and Josephine (Neimi) Somero. She was married to Wayne D. Hoyt on December 19, 1953 and together, they established their home in New Ipswich where they raised their family.
She enjoyed travel, working in her flower gardens growing tulips, watching her birds from her window, baking and BINGO. Mrs. Hoyt had a tremendous love for people and had dear friends near and far. She especially loved trick or treater’s on Halloween and always had treats for the kids and coffee with baked goods for the adults. She will always be remembered for being in her kitchen with her mixing bowl, making some sort of delicious goodies.
She was predeceased by her husband Wayne, her son Tommy, and by her siblings, Emil, Sarah and Senia.
Mrs. Hoyt is survived by her sons, Rick and his wife Celest Hoyt of Gardner, MA, Bruce Hoyt of Rindge, NH, Andrew Hoyt of Peterborough, NH and Wayne Hoyt of New Ipswich; her daughters, Marie Coleman and her husband Glen, Dorothy Muhonen and her husband Norman, and Lois Hillock and her husband Brian, all of New Ipswich; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her brother Tom Somero of New Ipswich; her sister, Johanna Muhonen of New Ipswich, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
All services will be held at the Apostolic Lutheran Church, 117 Goen Road, New Ipswich NH.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm.
A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 pm.
Burial will take place in the spring in Smithville Cemetery in New Ipswich.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Hoyt’s name to the Good Neighbor Fund, PO Box 486, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
