Raimo A. Rantakyto, age 69, beloved partner, and friend, passed away on August 15, 2026, with his partner Pam and her daughter Sandy by his side after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born on February 14, 1957, in the charming town of Tempere, Finland, to the late Paavo and Eila (Kiviaho) Rantakyto. The family arrived in the United States in early 1958 and settled in Fitchburg, MA.

Raimo's journey through life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his family, his profession, and his passions. He spent many years as a skilled millwright, a testament to his work ethic and commitment to his craft.

Raimo loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing golf and riding motorcycles.

Raimo's heart was as big as the open road he loved to travel. A proud member of The Monadnock HOG club, Raimo cherished his role as Chapter Director in 2006. He orchestrated charity motorcycle rides and other events, bringing people together in the spirit of camaraderie and giving back to the community. He enjoyed riding the open road with Pam and attending motorcycle rallies such as the Harley Rendezvous for many years. He loved music and live shows. A favorite was attending the White Mountain Boogie and Blues Fest in Thorton, NH for several years.

Raimo is survived by his devoted partner of 17 years, Pamela McCarthy, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. He is also survived by his former wife, Irene (McPhee) Rantakyto, his brother Reijo Rantakyto and his wife Ann. Raimo was a cherished stepfather to Michael Reynolds and his wife Kristen, Shawn Reynolds and his wife Trisha all of Arizona. His daughter Liisa Thomas, of California. He was loved by Pam's children Erica, Sandy and their husband's, Dan and Grant along with their children Savannah, Skylar, Declan and Jasper.

Raimo was blessed with a loving family that extended beyond immediate ties. His niece, nephew, grandchildren, and great-grandchild were the light of his life.

Preceding Raimo in death were his parents, Paavo and Eila Rantakyto, as well as his niece Tina and beloved nephew Eric Rantakyto. Their memories remain cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.

In honor of Raimo's life and his courageous battle with Parkinson’s, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Parkinson's Foundation in his memory. Through these contributions, Raimo's spirit of giving continues to shine brightly.

Raimo's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and resilience. May his journey continue in peace and his legacy forever inspire those who knew him.
