Raymond A. Hoyt, 86, resident of Rindge, NH died at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH on June 23, 2017 after a period of declining health.
He was born on June 28,1931 in Cambridge, MA a son of the late Frederick and Edith (Buzzell) Hoyt.
Ray was raised and educated in Somerville, MA and graduated from Somerville High in 1950. He would later move north to Rindge, NH where he has resided since 1956. He attended police training and became a police officer for the town of Rindge. He also held jobs as a truck driver for Murray Oil in Winchendon, MA, Rindge Town Highway Department, custodian for Ingalls Memorial Library, Rindge Memorial School and NEBS of Peterborough, NH.
When not working Ray liked to fix or tinker with small engines, spend time with his family; including time spent with the draft horses and his son Rick.
Survivors include his wife, Helen (Bezanson) Hoyt of Rindge, NH, his son, Raymond “Rick” Hoyt of Rindge, NH, his brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Lois Hoyt also of Rindge, NH, special granddaughter – Sarah LeClair. His nephews, Scott Hoyt of Chicopee, MA and Skip Hoyt of Manchester, NH – his nieces, Denise Hartwell of Jaffrey, NH, Donna Brinkman of Cooper City, FL and Lori Hoyt of Meadows of Dan, VA and many cousins.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH. A private graveside service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery, Rindge, NH.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ray’s memory to Draft Gratitude, 148 Ashuelot Street, Winchester, NH 03470.
