Rhoda Holombo

Rhoda Alice Elizabeth (Somero) Holombo passed from death to life on March 17, 2021 in Concord, NH. She was born June 24, 1940 in Calumet, MI, the daughter of Edward Somero & Anna Toivonen Somero.

Rhoda was the youngest of 10 children. She graduated high school in 1958 and went on to attend Suomi College in Hancock, MI. She graduated with a secretarial degree June 5, 1959 and married Douglas Holombo on November 18, 1961. They went on to have eight wonderful children.

In addition to her parents, Rhoda was predeceased by her husband Doug of 17 years on January 22, 1979, as well as her siblings Ellen, Arne, Everett, Reino, Mildred, Harold, Rita, Ruth and Rose.

Surviving are her children Mark and Teri Holombo of New Ipswich, Luke and Marci Holombo of Taylors, SC, Gregg and Lois Holombo of New Ipswich, Dean and Heidi Holombo of Taylors, SC, Lynn and Dwayne White of New Ipswich, Henry Holombo of New Ipswich, Gwen and Bill Coponen of New Ipswich, and Judy and Jeremiah Ketola of Rindge; 44 grandchildren and many great grands she adored.

Rhoda loved Jesus and loved singing of her Savior! Her family was her pride and joy. New grand babies brought much excitement as well as hearing of her grands budding romances.
She will be missed by all those who loved her. We will cherish the memories of her song, of the little brick house on the hill overflowing with Gram’s candy, her love and laughter. We rejoice in the knowledge that she is with the One whom her soul loved and we know we will meet her in the morning!

Visitation will be at the Apostolic Lutheran Church on Goen Road in New Ipswich on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00PM. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 3:00PM. Burial will take place in the spring, at Smithville Cemetery in New Ipswich.
