Robert G. ‘Bob’ Young, 67, was peacefully and mercifully summoned from his earthly home in Houston, TX, to take his place by God’s side during early the morning of March 19, 2017.
Bob was born in Dallas, TX on October 21, 1949, first born son of the late C. Robert and Lorae (Baker) Young. Bob was immeasurably loved and adored by all of his family. His unexpected, sudden, untimely departure from our embrace and ability to always depend on Bob’s spontaneous expressions of wit, love, wisdom, insight, generosity, and counsel has left us all in stunned disbelief, numb, and deeply heartbroken.
Bob’s extraordinary worldly accomplishments throughout his short life would astonish any who did not know him, and most that did, as there were few continents where Bob had not tread, lived, and/or touched in some wonderful way.
Though with all of the accomplishments of this magnificent man during his short lifetime, nothing on this earth meant more to Bob than his family, especially his wife of over 30 years, Jo Young of Houston, TX; his 3 daughters, Michelle and her husband Mark Cournoyer of Jaffrey, NH; Brittney Young of Houston, TX; Marie and her husband Steven Gomez of Ruidoso, NM; and his son Mory and his wife Linda Young of Los Lunas, NM. He was the doting Granddaddy of 8 wonderful and adoring grandchildren; Alicia and Garrett of Jaffrey, NH; Stasia, Amber and Cailyn of Los Lunas, NM; Aiden and Austin of Ruidoso, NM and Andrew of Houston, TX; Uncle of 6 loving Nieces and Nephews; and 5 Great Nieces and Nephews; Brother to Carol and her husband Oscar Garza, Debbie and husband Tom Jester, Chuck and his wife Beb Young and Kathy and her husband Don Johnson. Bob was the nephew of Frank Young and the late June (Baker) Young and cousin to Robin and her husband Nick Gilliam.
We love and miss you Bob; as in our hearts you were summoned home much too early. Thank You God for the mercy of allowing us the honor of being part of this, your family.
However; we may all rejoice in knowing that Bob is by God’s side with the rest of our family now who have already stridden that heavenly path, and which are awaiting each of us to join them all again when we too are called home.
