Ronald W. Duffy (Duff, Duffy), 79, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, September 21, 2026. He was born on December 16, 1946 in Winchendon, Massachusetts where he attended schools prior to moving to Fitzwilliam where he spent the majority of his life and chose to raise a family there in the home he built in 1971. He was the son of the late Peggy Sawtelle of Winchendon, MA. 

On March 3, 1967 he married the love of his life, Janis (Patria), in a modest ceremony surrounded by those closest to them. Their union was a testament of enduring love, spanning nearly six decades filled with laughter and shared adventures. 

He was a man of many talents and interests, known for his dedication and hard work. In his teenage years he worked at Damon's Farm and was later employed at Toy Town Drywall in Winchendon, MA. Prior to retirement, his last 25+ years he worked with Richard Cudihee in Dublin, NH as a carpenter/builder. His craftsmanship and attention to detail was well known to many. He also volunteered for the Fitzwilliam Fire Department demonstrating his willingness to help others. 

Time spent at family gatherings was always filled with warmth and infectious humor, creating cherished memories that will be treasured by all who knew him. His legacy of love continues with his three great-grandchildren, who carry forward his spirit and love for life. 

Beyond his professional accomplishments and family life, Ronny was a man of the outdoors. An avid hunter, he cherished the annual hunting season and time spent with his nephew and close friend, Brian Duffy. His interests were varied and included camping, fishing, flea markets and finding treasures at the beach with his Geiger counter while on vacations. He also had a particular fondness for his Harley Davidson. At home he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from mowing the lawn to puttering around the house. In the winter months he enjoyed plowing, snowshoeing and hiking in the woods. 

Ronny leaves behind his wife Janis, his daughters, Christine (Duffy) Smith and her husband Glenn of Fitzwilliam, Kimberly (Duffy) Parkhurst of Fitzwilliam, his sisters, Linda Dunham of Fitzwilliam, and Deanna Lucier of Boscawen, his brother Larry Duffy of Phillipston, MA, his granddaughters, Kayla Smith of Winchester, Stephanie (Smith) Morin and her husband Gary of Fitzwilliam, Mallory Gonzalez of Richmond, Jessica Gonzalez of Valley Center, CA, his great grandchildren, Alaina Morneau of Gardner, MA, Kane Morin of Fitzwilliam and Cole Atkins of Winchester along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Darlene Duffy and his brother Robert Duffy. 

In honoring Ronny's memory, the family kindly suggests donations be made to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 W Swanzey Rd, Swanzey, NH, 03446. Ronny and Janis rescued several dogs over the years from various shelters and rescue groups, with Skeeter, a Chihuahua mix from Michigan, forming a special bond with Ronny for 16 years. 

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Felicia Dunham and her dedicated care team, whose thoughtfulness and kindness provided unwavering support for Ronny and his family. The family would also like to thank Home Healthcare, Hospice & Community Services for the care they provided. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Jaffrey VFW Post 5613, 12 Hathorn Road, Jaffrey, NH.
