Ronald “Ronnie” J. Labier, 87, resident of Harrison, Tennessee, former longtime resident of Peterborough, NH passed away on January 19, 2024, in Harrison, TN, in the comfort of his home.

Ronnie was born in Peterborough, NH, on May 20, 1936, a son to the late Homer J. and Eva Rose (Thibault) Labier. He was one of seven children.

Ronnie grew up in Peterborough with his family and attended Peterborough High School. As a young man he enjoyed boxing and was an active boxer in his late teens. He enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War as a paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne Division. Ron loved to share his stories from his time in the military and was a very proud veteran. He had a heart of gold and was selfless, always putting others before himself.

Ronnie worked various jobs in Peterborough during his time including Peterborough Basket Company as well as Agway.

He was a devoted Catholic and stayed true to his faith. In his free time, he enjoyed wood carving and constructing things from wood. Often, he would make jewelry, walking sticks, or random pieces of décor. He loved to be outside completing house duties such as raking and sweeping the driveway. He loved animals and especially loved making others laugh. While he was ‘set in his ways’, he still was able to enjoy the small things in life and especially loved his snack foods.

In addition to his parents Ronnie was also predeceased by his partner of 25 years, Doris Laroe, his sister Ann L. Jones, and his friend Thomas “Tommy” Keenan.

Ronnie will be remembered by his caretaker and friends, Kimberly Keenan and her husband Timothy of TN, Linda Keenan of Peterborough, NH, Shyra Lang of TN, and his brother-in-law Donald Jones of New London, NH, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be no calling hours.

Ronnie will be laid to rest with his parents on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Cemetery, Hillcrest Road, Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred H. Deschamps will officiate.
