In retirement he did electronic design consulting for various companies and started his own business. He was a frequent contributor to Nuts and Volts magazine and they offered him a question and answer column. He also tried his hand in Real Estate for a few years, working for Kokko Reality in Milford.

His hobbies included boating, motorcycles, and camping with his family. He enjoyed being outdoors cutting timber, gardening, working on his tractors, and making maple syrup every spring.

Russell was a resident of Milford for 65 years, and during that time, served on several boards pertaining to the schools.

He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Marie (Hodgdon) Kincaid, six children and their spouses, Wayne Kincaid and Jill Jarvis of Milford, Nancy McKay of Lyndeborough, Patricia and Dave Bartlett of Chichester, Thomas and Denise Kincaid of Milford, William and Jodi Kincaid of Milford, Susan and Keith Ledoux of Merrimack, 23 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
