Sally Fisher

Sally Hoisington Fisher, 83, of Peterborough, NH, passed away on March 18, 2024, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Lincoln, NE, on October 9, 1940, the daughter of the late Emery E. and Gladys (Salisbury) Hoisington.

She moved multiple times as a child before arriving in New Jersey in 1957, where she graduated Class of 1958 from Jamesburg High School. She was a 1960 graduate of Trenton Junior College with an Associate in Arts degree and a focus in Advertising.

After high school, she met the love of her life, Bill Fisher, and they married on March 4, 1961, in Dayton, NJ. Together they recently surpassed their 63-year anniversary.

Bill and Sally resided in Ringoes, NJ for 37 years and raised their two daughters there. She was especially proud of Susan and Carole, as they are well-educated, energetic educators and certainly made their mother proud.  During these years the family belonged to the Sandy Ridge Community Church, and Sally was very involved in the local community with various volunteer opportunities.

She greatly enjoyed the arts. Having attended various art schools and classes, she was an accomplished painter in many mediums across varied subjects. She also enjoyed the art of basket making and studying the craftmanship and artistry of other handmade baskets. She also found time to dabble in wood carvings and collect seashells.

She was a 15-year member of the Jaffrey Woman’s Book Club, referring to them as a “great group of ladies”.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, R. William Fisher of Peterborough, NH, her two daughters: Susan Fisher and her husband Gordon Lee of Cambridge, MA, and Carole Fisher and her husband Michael Chermesino of Worthington, MA She is also survived by her two grown grandsons, Colin Lee, and Aidan Lee, both of Cambridge, MA, her brother, Jack Hoisington of S. Daytona, FL, and her “other family,” the loving and kind people of Mountainview Bible Church, where she had been a member for more than 20 years. In her own words, “God has richly blessed her and her family.”

In keeping with Sally’s wishes there will be no calling hours.

Family and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life at Mountain View Bible Church on Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 pm, 81 Page Road, Dublin, NH. Pastor Kyle Wilcox will serve as officiant. A reception will follow.

Her burial will take place at a later date in her family plot in Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Stockton, NJ.
