Theodore “Ted” Symonowicz, 78, long time resident of Jaffrey NH, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, surrounded by his beloved wife and family after a long battle with Cancer.

Ted was born on May 18, 1947, to Michael and Lillian (LaPlante) Symonowicz. He graduated from Conant High School in 1965, followed by higher education at Keene State College and later Plymouth State University where he received a Bachelor of Education degree.

In 1972 he enlisted in the US Navy and was an Aviation Electronics Technician, Third Class. After being honorably discharged in 1975, he pursued his teaching career in Pittsburg, NH, followed by ConVal High School in Peterborough, NH. There he taught Physical Education and also coached the boys' baseball team. He left ConVal to become a Safety Engineer for the NH Hospital Association and later owned his own lawn care business for 12+ years.

Ted married Carol Ann Lewandowski on September 3, 1977, and together they built a life and family that they loved in his hometown of Jaffrey, NH.

After attending UMass Amherst where he studied Agronomics, he became Assistant Golf Course Superintendent of Haverhill Country Club and Winchester Country Club. Then the Superintendent at Candia Woods Golf Links and Monadnock Country Club. Preceding his work as Superintendent, he worked at Lesco, now Site One (John Deere Direct) in Weston Mass, where he retired in 2019.

Outside of work, Ted loved numbers-especially spread sheets, a game of golf, and attending college sports events. If he wasn’t creating spread sheets, one would find him in the summer lounging in his favorite Adirondack chair, if not working on home projects, or improving the lawn. He also enjoyed vacationing at the Lighthouse of Swans Island, Maine with Carol. He loved the time spent with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will remember him for his strong spirit, resilience, humor, and unconditional love.

Ted is survived by the love of his life and wife Carol. His two sons, Michael (Marion) Lambert of Belton, SC, and Thomas “Tom” Lambert (Laura Harding) of Jaffrey, NH. His grandchildren: Justine (Randy) Coponen of Kennewick, WA, Darean (Amos) Gutierrez of Harrisville, NH, and Isaac Lambert of Jaffrey, NH. Ted also had 9 great grandchildren: Tessa, Madalyn, Harley, Declan, Karson, Nathaniel, Isaac, Evan, and Adrianna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Anna Devlin and Sandy Goulet.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 1:00pm in the reception room adjacent the Pro Shop at the Shattuck Golf Course, 53 Dublin Road in Jaffrey, NH 03452.
