It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Thomas B.K. Hewitt II, MD, 73, of Fitzwilliam NH on April 11, 2025. Thomas was known for his intelligent, caring, and humorous personality.
He was born January 7, 1952 in West Hartford, CT. He graduated from Kenyon College, Gambier, OH, 1973 where he met his wife of 51 years, Deborah (Lehecka) Hewitt.
He obtained a medical degree from Tufts University, Boston, MA in 1977. He had a private practice in Springfield, MA from 1980-1989. He then was a staff physician for the former Riverbend Medical Group and associate medical director for the Providence Behavioral Health Hospital, Holyoke, MA. He was board certified in Addiction Medicine and worked as a medical director for Clean Slate Centers in Western MA and Central CT from 2008 until the present, where he touched the lives of hundreds of patients and colleagues.
He enjoyed practicing Scottish fiddle tunes, photography and cooking.
He is preceded by his mother and father, Betty (Haley) Hewitt and Thomas B.K. Hewitt; and sister Caroline Hewitt.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Hewitt; his son Thomas B.K. Hewitt III; and his daughter Haley C. Hewitt.
