Wallace 'Tuffy' Wooster

Wallace B. Wooster, Jr., 75, known as “Tuffy” to his family and friends, passed away peacefully at his home in Jaffrey on January 24, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born November 1, 1948, at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, New Hampshire. He was the son of Wallace B. Wooster, Sr., and Blanche D. (Chellis) Wooster, of Jaffrey. 

Tuffy enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Viva of 44 years as well as his large extended Wooster family. He will be fondly remembered by those who saw him touring around town in his electric wheelchair, which was part of his life for over 30 years. He loved to socialize with the Jaffrey residents in local stores and restaurants. Tuffy enjoyed photography and taking nature pictures. He loved spending time at Lake Sunshine and picking wildflowers for his wife. He was an avid collector, and he loved watching movies, and enjoyed time with his cats.

He is survived by his wife Vivian “Viva” (Rowe) Wooster of Jaffrey NH, his daughter Cheryl Wooster of Jaffrey, NH, a granddaughter Amber Wooster of New Ipswich, a Stepdaughter Christine Cortes of San Diego, CA, a Stepson Michael Burke Jr from Pennsylvania, His mother, Blanche D. Wooster of New Ipswich, his sister, Shirley Thoms and husband David of Winter Park FL, his brother Bob Wooster and wife Linda of Jaffrey NH, his sister Sandy Lehtonen and husband Kenny of New Ipswich along with many nieces and nephews. 

He was pre-deceased by his father, Wallace B. Wooster, Sr., in May of 1987. 

Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Hope Fellowship Church, 16 Prescott Road, Jaffrey, NH 03452.

A funeral service will immediately follow calling hours, beginning at 6:00 pm.  

In the spring, a graveside service and burial will take place at 1:00pm in Conant Cemetery on May 15, 2024.
