Bill Johnson, beloved husband, brother, and dedicated educator, passed away on February 13, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on September 4, 1947, Bill was the cherished husband of Betty Johnson of Jaffrey, NH. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage, building a life filled with love and partnership.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Johnson, his brother Eric Johnson and sister-in-law, Kim (Boarts) Johnson of Pittsburgh, PA, his cousin JoAnn Hiti of Danvers, MA, and his treasured friends Hai Swinehart and Jeff Osgood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Johnson and Alice (Hetrick) Johnson of Natrona Heights, PA, as well as his grandparents, Martin and Mary (Peterson) Johnson and Earl and Margaret (Dininger) Hetrick, all of Natrona Heights, PA.
A proud graduate of Grove City College (Class of 1970), Bill went on to earn a master’s degree in science and a master’s degree in special education from Fitchburg State University. He dedicated his career to teaching at Hampshire Country School and CAPS Collaborative Special Education, where he impacted the lives of countless students.
Bill’s commitment to his community extended beyond the classroom. He organized community film programs in Jaffrey for many years and was passionate about helping students and young adults continue their education and pursue their dreams.
Bill Johnson’s legacy was one of kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support for others. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched.
A celebration of life for Bill is to be announced at a later date.
